A FUNCTIONAL AND
COMFORTABLE CITY
The formation of a
new town is in progress within the city
center.
|
'HUMAN CITY' IS THE
KEYNOTE.
An affluent,
comfortable, caring city should be more
than just functional; it must also be
safe and pleasant.
In Hita, progress
is being made to create a city which
plays a central role both in the
Hita-Kusu area and in northern Kyushu,
and which makes the most of its natural
characteristics and climate to be a
pl~asure to live in.

With its natural
swimming pool, Ono River has become a
popular place to appreciate
nature.

CONSOLIDATION OF THE
ROAD SYSTEM
Four main national
highways: routes 210, 211, 212, and 386
cross within the city area, making the
city a strategic point for traffic
flows within northern Kyushu.
In addition, the
opening of the Trans-Kyushu Highway,
which forms the backbone of the road
system in Kyushu, has had a great
impact on the social and economic life
of Hita.
For this reason, as
work goes ahead on: the consolidation
of bypasses, access roads and streets
in line with town planning, progress is
being made in making the roads and
streets that are part of our everyday
lives into not merely practical, but
safe and convenient
thoroughfares.
|
DEVELOPMENT OF THE
CITY AREA.
For a city to have
both human charm and a relaxing
atmosphere, it is necessary to fuse the
foundations of the town, sculpt the
townscape, and carefully plan the use
of land.
For this reason,
streets are being improved and new
roads are being laid in the city's
central area, with the intention of
creating a spacious city where people
can live in harmony with urban
functionality.
Work is going ahead
to create a cityscape with a human
touch; the themes are abundant water
and greenery, history and culture, and
streets full of vitality.

PARKS AND GREEN
AREAS.
There is something
about being surrounded by greenery that
makes us feel relaxed. Hita aims to
have 'a park in every district', to
provide recreation spots where
residents can relax and enjoy their
leisure time.
The city is
striving to create parks and green
zones with individual features
particular to their areas.
