 The Hita-Asakura section of the Trans-Kyushu Highway,
connecting Oita and Nagasaki (252km), was opened on
the 10th March 1990.
This was the second stretch to be opend in Oita Prefecture,
after the Yufuin-Beppu section, which was opened in July 1989.
With this Hita has become linked by expressway to the major
cities of Japan-Fukuoka, Osaka and Tokyo; and the curtain was
lifted on a new age full of promise. |
